CI867 removal
Hi,
I have one trivial question, but I'd like to know the details about that.
I have an AC800M controller (v5.1) with SM811 and CI867 module installed and switched on in a plant (plant is not yet working and the controller can be switched off). So, I have to take the CI867 module with me for some time. In the manual, I've seen that CI867 supports hot swap. So as I understand, I can take the CI867, insert the termination block into SM811 (while the controller is switched on) and the controller will normally work, except the Modbus TCP/IP will be disabled?
Tnx!

Hot swap means you can remove/insert CI867 from the baseplate TP867 without to switch-off the power supply.
It depends on what is defined in HW configuration and application but normally the controller shoud continue working - some functions regarding communication trough CI867 will be affected.
In case you need to remove completely CI867 and the baseplate TP867, then you should switch off the power first.

A safety system.
Yes , Hot removal is perfectly supported for this,as on the condition you have mentioned.
Even on one plant,we have done Online IO firmware for CI867 on the same.
But as the middle state of a Safety project ,already been Integrated to various other exisiting systems, thus we need to be a bit carefulw while TCP comm break situation in this.
