panel 800 issue - alarms config
Hello,
I have a problem when entering new alarms or editing exisiting ones in Panel Builder 5.1.
When typing the alarm text, after every keyboard stroke, the cursor moves back to the initial position within the text box, making it impossible to type anything useful.
Then when clicking OK, an error message appears:
"Entry is not valid."
"May not be blank"
So it remains impossible to work with the alarm list.
I have Panel Builder 5.1/0 Build 358
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

You can check:
- country/language
- multiple languages
- alarm properties
- alarm groups
It could be due to different settings, may be character set or other, for sure you need to define default language and so on.
Also you need to select a valid Signal (tag) for this alarm. Otherwise it will not accept the alarm.
Try first with the factory settings of Panel Builder and English text - re-install the Panel Bulder, and start to write alarm message.
Absolutelly the same version is working fine with me, also I'm using cyrilic letters !
No problem at all
Ok. Problem solved. There was a services conflict between Panel Builder and service called Authentication Service by Hewlett-Packard. It was necassery to go through hole process of finding this service. Know how is provided on google -> Microsoft Community -> under a title: "Cursor jumps to the initial position while typing in Windows7"
After disabling this service typing alarm messages works fine again.
