Can i use a software create an OPC server replace OPC ABB Freelance server?
Dear Sir,
As my title, i want to find a software and use it to create an OPC Server replace OPC ABB Freelance server.
Actualy, I want to use only one OPC server to connect all PLC ex: Siemens S7 300, s71200, ABB AC800F, AC700F. Frist step, i must find and use a soft ware to create a general OPC server. I'm using Kepserver Ex but i think that it can't connect to ABB AC700F or AC800F.
So If you know anything about that case, please share with me.
Thanks for your helping and have a nice day.

Hello Steel,
as far as I know, the KEPServerEX has a driver for OPC DA (which is part of their Manufacturing Siute and their OPC Connectivity Suite). With this driver you should be able to connect the KEPServerEX to a Freelance OPC Gateway.
I havn't found a driver for OPC AE in their list, so alarms from Freelance will not be available in KEPServerEX unfortunately.
If the KEPServerEX people want to write a special driver to connect to Freelance, they can use the DMS-API to access variables, tags and alarms in Freelance.
Hope that helps

I think you may be underestimating the amount of effort required to create an "OPC Server" from scratch.
If you want to Aggregate multiple PLCs from several manufacturers into a single data source, then there are off the shelf products that can do this. For example ...
http://www.opcdatahub.com/Features/OP...
http://www.iconics.com/Home/Products/...
These all combine multiple OPC servers into what appears to be a single data source for your clients.
