Export of alarms and events out of 800xA (to text file for example)
I would like to ask you if you know how to export alarms and events out of 800xA (for example to text file). I would like to do it automatically let say every one minute.
I have it done in our old stations OS500 (Unix stations) by virtual printer. This printer printed every alarm and event into text file.
I know that in 800xA I may use data export tool + excel + scheduler but this solution does not fulfil my needs.
Do you know any others solutions?

There exists no "out of the box" & certified solution on the 800xA Base media to get alarm and events continously logged to a file.
The Alarm Logger service is implemented, tested and certified for printing on bona fide, paper based printers only.
The Alarm Logger service may or may not be able to service an emulated printer driver. Also, such solutions are not within the scope of the regular 800xA product support. You may ask Consult IT to produce a custom solution for you.
You could try to create & schedule some Excel/Data Direct report where you with macro code try to "cut & paste" what you would like to log (sorry no examples).
I suggest that you look at some OPC AE based solution - surely there must be some OPC AE client able to log to file (sorry no examples).
Please don't hesitate to ask your local ABB sales representative to forward a request for this feature to be implemented in some future version of System 800xA.
There is no direct automatic way to export event list to a file. But manullay you can copy /paste all events from event list to excel sheet,
and if you have IM you can retive all events into excel sheet using Data direct tool.
Printing option cab be done with Alarm Logger service..But it will be printed directly to the printer configured in the system.
