ABB 800XA SV5.0 DCS GOES OFFLINE
Answers
Hello.
Is it the problem occurs when u download the application into the controller and facing problem for faceplates of that downloading controller?
If so may be ur controller system load is more than optimal load so kindly look into this u try downloading applications one by one since 5.0 onwords u download applications separately.
Or its problem is continuously there even in normal operation on all operator workplaces or in any one operator workplace?
Is it in all pages u r facing the problem simpler or compex graphics?
It is "normal" to briefly loose visibility following download of an application to AC 800M.
The AC 800M OPC server need to detect the download and then retrieve some files the Control Builder M stores into FSD upon download.
This detection, download and refresh work takes a few seconds for the OPC server.
With larger applications, the time may become slightly longer.
Several minutes sounds way too much and I suspect some issues with the system. E.g. poor bandwidth between servers, very large applications, high load in controller, etc.
Please consider asking regional ABB to open a support case for you.
Jeba,
You have posted several questions about your DCS performance over the last 3 weeks.
(Licensing Issues, faceplate opening times and problems downloading code)
- Are these all for the same system ?
- Are these all for an existing Version 5.0 System ?
- Are these new problems ?
- Has the performance of your system become significantly worse over the last few weeks ?
If I understand you correctly, then this problem is "new" - ie the system performed properly when first installed, but you have been having performance problems for a few months now ?
The list of possible reasons why the system has become "slow" is a very very long list. Your questions are all likely related to the same root cause. I would suggest you probably need to have an expert visit site and audit your system.
Anything else we could post in this forum is just guesses as to what might be wrong
