can we connect to AC800 PM851 without internal battery and compact memory card?
I have aPM851 which I am trying to connect to, but I cannot. I have no idea why as I am following the very exact steps mentioned in the 'Getting Started' manual. The only things I am suspecious about are that the internal battery is dead and also I don't have memory card. Is it possible that I can't connect to the CPU because of battery and Memory card?
I would appreciate your help.

Battery or no memory card are not the issue, it should work without it.
Power correctly connected? I assume yes. Can you ping the IP of the controller? If not through the IP configuration tool and TK212 cable you can configure the IP of the controller.
Then try to ping the controller. (cmd prompt ping IPofcontroller)
If you can pin it.then check OPC Server. If its with smile then check configuration of controller in CBM.
As said battery and memory card (CF card) doesnt block you from going online. They are required to store the process accumated values. Memory card is to have the program backup stored in it.
Also check with the tool cable to get in online with the controller.
