800XA for advant masters time synchronization alarms
Voted best answer
First you could check if there is really a time drift, which mostly is the case, using below commands,in ONB,
Connect to controller using Sltarg (Nw,Node) of controller
Read current date/time: RDATIME
Connect to CS node using, Sltarg (NW,Node) of CS
Read current date/time: RDATIME
If there is a time drift and system is not yet into production/commissioned..
Incase AC400 controller is the time master, the time can be set on the controller manually using,
SDATIME( YYYY-MM-DD/HH:MM:SS)
Else, Depending on who is the time master ie AC800M controller, Connectvity server, Domain, the RTA board and other settings need to be made and time needs to be then set on the time master, please refer the system manual 3BSE034463-510_en_System_800xA_5.1_Network_Configuration Section 7 for details.

What does the alarms look like? There are number of different clock synchronization system messages to choose from.
How is the clock synchronization setup on this MB300 control network?
The most common disturbance is "Clock sync pulse missing" which may depend on:
a) The clock master and its backup have both failed (which may happen if they've been restarted closely in time so that a new backup had not yet been appointed).
b) There are problems in the network disturbing the multicast traffic used by the high precision time synchronization protocol.
c) The clock master has a time jitter, e.g. an RTA Board in "reverse sync mode" and where the host computer in its turn has an unreliable/jittering time or is slaving to an external time source with jitter.
If the above hints does not resolve the issue, I suggest that you contact your regional ABB Support Center and ask for assistance.
To speed up the investigation/resolution
- retrieve clock synchronization parameters from all MB300 nodes.
- check & collect system messages from all MB300 nodes.
- retrieve the setup of the AfwTime Service in 800xA.
- if & how an external time source is used.
and submit this information at first contact with the Support Center.
