IAC communication from NonSIL application to SIL application
I have a requirement in my project to communicate from NonSIL application to SIL application via IAC. We are using control modules for programming in the project. But I understand that IAC communication from nonSIL application to SIL application for control modules works fine while using soft controllers but the same does not work when we have physical controller connected.
The one solution we are aware of now is to write from control modules in nonSIL application to control diagrams in SIL application and from Control diagrams in SIL application to Control modules in the same application. Is this the only way out? or do we have a simpler and straight forward approach with IAC variables only?
Appreciate any kind of support in this regards.

The only option to communicate with between SIL and Non-SIL applications is throught diagram at SIL application. The same is also confirmed by Supportline when i take up this two years before.
However the manual says, it is only possible to communicate via diagrm(s). May be you can refer 800xA_Control_5.1_Feature_Pack_AC_800M_Configuration, 3BSE035980-511, Page - 107.
Its feature pack feature so it wont work in base system version so atleast system version should be 5.1 FP4.
Starting from 5.1 FP4 onwords, Its possible to confgiure IAC between deffrent SIL even from lower to Higher SIL.
I used and it was working fine.
Irrespective of the programming languages used between program-program,Control diagram editor-editor,toplevel single control module-top level single control module.
