Audible alarms not working on 800xA S-FP 5.1
I have read few of your other article about audible alarms which were very interesting.
The problem I have is a pecurial once.
We have a system with multi system integration. There are 3 sites, one site (800xA 5.1 FP4 with advant controllers) being the main suscriber and two sites (800xA 5.1 FP4 with 800M controllers) being the providers.
The main subsriber is the main hub, and has a 2 big EOWs.
One EOW for one provider. The problem is there was a shutdown recently on one of the providers and since then the Audible alarms are not coming through.
No setting was changed and it use to work correctly. Also I have logged into the Operator station using admin rights and simulated window sounds and the speakers are working fine.
I have also compared all the other settings in workplace structure, library structure everything seems to be fine.
Only event I see in the event list was this Operator station had a 'Resource issue', and the machine restarted. But after that I don't see any more issue.
Any other thing I should check or any other ideas or anything I am missing?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe you should request the regional ABB support center to open up a support case (AKS is more to be considered "hints & tips" - system breakdowns and customer dissatisfaction is better handled via traditional channels).
Since you mention EOW and resources my first recommendation would be to check the connection between the PC and the speaker. EOW often involve some kind of "remote video & sound" kit, eg Matrox Extio or HP RGS; believe me; the reliability in plain DVI and audio cables are hard to beat. I've seen more than one case where the remote video/audio did not deliver what's expected. If you have some "remote video/sound" kit please contact the vendor and ensure you are running with reliable hardware and drivers. I know Extio has updated their hardware & firmware many times...
Logging out and back in again could enable some driver, etc to reload and "wake up" again.
If possible try enabling audio on all client computers, even if you can not wire up speakers for all of them in the operator room - in worst case let them play in the computer room.
If the problem stick to "remote sound" stations you know who to call; the vendor of the remote feature.
ABB has had problems with audible alarm over RDP (due to a nasty memory leak in Microsoft Windows Terminal Server). Avoid sound over RDP or ask regional ABB for assistance with securing that you run best software versions available.
