need visual basic 6 sp6 or not?
we use 800xa 5.1 FP4 for advant master.
i want to know when we use PG2 for graphic pages Is it necessary to instll "visual basic sp6" or not?
No, you do not need to install the Visual Basic 6 editor if the system was freshly installed at version 5.1
Neither do you need to install the VB6 editor if the system has been upgraded from a 5.0 or older version - but in this case it is recommended to install the legacy graphics package(s)*, even if PG2 is to be used to 100%.
With the legacy packages installed and loaded into the aspect system you can "disable" (make them invisible) and later purge them off the system. Search AKS for "disable VB6" etc - I posted a .pdf some year ago that describes the benefits of doing this.
Upgraded systems without legacy graphics loaded will still carry all of the older version's VB6 graphic aspects. As long as they exist in the system they will occupy lots of disk space and they risk being called from context menus, old aspect links, etc. This may cause a 5.0 or older VB graphic to be accidentally displayed instead of the expected PG2 5.1 version...
*) Don't mix up VB6 editor itself and the legacy graphics packages (which are found on the 800xA media).
