SM811 redundant modules de-syncroniceSM811 redundant modules become desynchronize
Hi. Redundant PM865 controllers with SM811 works some time synchronized but suddenly they get de-sync. (SM811 SYNC-LED off). Have you ever experience something like this?
I3 inputs are connected to a impulse button. If I press the sync button SM811 synchronized but the problem come back again a couple of hours later.

Hi
from the provided information i assume you and me had same problem this SM811 UnSyn problem is known Bug but now this problem is corrected in Version 5.0.2/5 (5.0 SP2 RU5) which is part of 800xA System revsion 5.0 SP2 Rev E
You need to Upgrade your system to Rev E of 800xA Version 5.0 SP 2 and Install the CBM format the attached file ABB_Control_Software_for_AC_800M_High_Integrity_Update_version_5.0.2_5
instead of normal CBM on your Engineering Station.after that you need to upgrade the Firmware in the Controller PM865 and SM811 using the Online Upgrade Procdure (If you don't know then let me know i will gudie you) and then check that your upgraded Controller firmware should be 5.0.2500.13.this check is very improtant because ABB remove bug in 2500 firware if you have in someother firmware older then this one then you will not able to resolve the issue.by using online procdure you can upgrade in running plant also i did it and it work fine.
After Upgrade from last 2 months i didn't hear any problem regarding UnSyn from customer site that means problem solved.you can try and in case of any problem.
Send me controller log File after your firmware upgrade then i will cross check if everything is good on your end.
Best of Luck In case of any query please let me know via email or better on forum

See the manual "AC 800M - Controller Hardware
Hardware and Operation" (3BSE036351R5021) page 237-238.
Synchronization of the SM811 includes:
1. Make sure that the synchronization link between the SM811s is in place, that
is, the enclosed TK852V010 cable is properly connected into both SM Link
connectors respectively.
2. Insert the SM811 in its position.
3. When the SM811 starts the synchronization LED flashes, and later it continues
to blink with 3 blinks and a pause in a sequence.
4. Push the button (create an edge on digital input 3 on the already running Safety
Module), once it starts blinking repeatedly with 3 blinks and a pause sequence.
5. The Sync LED flashes faster until the synchronization is complete.
6. The Sync LED turns yellow when the module is synchronized.
Please also make sure that the Digital input "I3" is linked together between the two SM811 modules.
