Profibus communication between SattLine and CI801
Hi all, I'm trying to set up the communication between SattLine prfibus master (200-CIPB/DP) and CI801 (SW Ver. 1.2/4). I'm using SyCon software in order to configure the profibus communication; I have loaded the GSD file (I tried both GSD files attached) and use it to map the addresses. The hardware configuration is described below:
200-CIPB/DP Profibus Master <---Profibus Cable---> CI801<---Direct Connection---> AO810.
On profibus master card the Error LED is off, Ready LED is solid green and Run LED is flashing. On the CI801 card, I can see the P LED is solid green but the T LED is flashing and according with the documentation it means that there is some problem with profibus communication but checking the Extended Diagnostic in SyCon there are no errors reported. I'm basically lost at the moment and I don't know how can find the issue. Following the addresses map configuration:
CI801 - Type Input "IB" - Start Addr. "0" - Length 1 byte - No Output
AO801 - INPUT CONFIG: Type Input "IB" - Start Addr. "1" - Length 1 byte - OUTPUT CONFIG: Type Output "QB" - Start Addr. "0" - Length 16 byte
Thanks in advance.
I strongly recomend that you use something like "ProfiTrace" to look at the messages being transferred on the bus. http://www.procentec.com/profitrace2/
SyCon should show that the Sattline is the Master and the CI801 is a Slave module. Make sure you do not have multiple masters on the bus ( which can happen when communicating to some Siemens PLC interface cards for example ) The Sycon diagnostics are pretty poor, but the one good feature it does have is that you can copy back the configuration from a profibus slave and use this to configure the profibus master.
