No, it would not work. First of all, you only gave the new file a maximum size of 256 Mbyte, which is very little and has been used up already. I suggest that you make the maximum size a few Gigabytes and tick the 'Autoextend' box also for the new file. I probably should have mentioned these things earlier. Keep an eye on the used size and extend the maximum file size. Ensure that there is enough free disk space on the disk you use.
If your database has actually been corrupted, you may have to restore your latest good backup. Normally this should not be required, though.
