800xA ver. 6.0.3 licensing issue after restore

Hi,

I restore 800xA FB from another project and after restore everything else seems to be working but I am getting "License not valid" message all the time and I can't reach Graphic Builder. I checked LSW and it said that license for Sentinel has expired and all CI- and PM-modules licenses give "Such feature not exist" (or something like that). In the new version all computers names are the same. I am not sure if the 800xA version is little bit newer but the core should be the same with first 3 digits at least.

Do you any advice how to get license back alive or do I need new license to do that? We are under commissioning and in the LE I can see that SENITEL should have valid license "forever" (end date 01-Jan-00).

Hi,

Thank you for answer. I made little bit troubleshooting with office and most probably the issue is related to 800xA versioning. I will now restore old FB and then update that system to newer one (6.0.3.3) and then restore again this new one. Hopefully that will fix the license error because they think now that the version in the old system was older and that's why the license will not fit in the new restore.

If this will not work then I will make a support case for that.

6.0.3.3 requires a new "Sentinel LTS" license. This added requirement is displayed when installing 6.0.3.3

A new product bulletin is on its way out; apparently, there is a risk of malfunction of the ReleaseUpdateTool (RUT) executed as the last steps of an upgrade (this tool updates the System Release Information aspect with the release date of the most recently released software installed in the system). This date is used when enforcing Sentinel.

If you are on 6.1.0.1 having ABB 800xA Base 6.0.1-0 the date is "A", after installing ABB 800xA Base 6.0.1-0 RU1 the date is moved forward to "B". Installing ABB 800xA Base 6.0.1-0 RU2 moves the release date another number of months ahead.

Licence Annoyance will start if the "release date" is more recent than the expiry of the Sentinel license.

Or put in other words, do not install release more recent than your Sentinel agreement's expiry date.

So
a) Make sure the backup you restored does not contain "too recent" software
b) Your system may be affected by a bug making the RUT date be set "too high". ABB support can provide a tool correcting the RUT date.
