How to check the firmware and ip address using tk212 tool cable in pm863(redundant controller)

Hello
You can find a tool "IP Config" in tools of your xA system.

To Check IP address:-

Terminate both cex slot and rcu slot using terminator
Press on init button of controller for 2-3 seconds, release the button
IP Config shows System reset detected and waits for scanning for the IP inside controller.
You will find both IP as well as subnet mask in the window.
Make all the relevant changes i.e for backup address, match speed settings and store the IP settings.
Popup new IP will store appears click OK and exit.

To check firmware:-
There are 2 ways.

When all communication are established you can directly login to your program
Right click controller >> Remote system >> Show Firmware information.
If it promted for update kindly update via remote system only.

The other way is Serial Firmware upgrade
Whenever you reset the controller, the firmware information will be displayed in the popup.

If you want to downgrade the firmware it is recommended to do it in Serial Firmware upgrade tool.

If you want to upgrade the firmware it is always recommend to do it in Remote system only.

Whether I have to set ip for cn1 and cn2 port

The RCU link cable is connected with the backup CPU,so during ip configuration I will turn off the backup cpu,after that I have to terminate CEX slot and RCU slot using the Terminator.Am I Right?

There is no need of configuring ip for cn1 and cn2 through IP Config.
Cn1 takes the IP of controller itself and cn2 will be in redundant series of cn1.

Let CEX cable be connected to both the controllers. Don't disconnect.
When you are working on primary controller disconnect rcu of red controller and when you are working on red controller disconnect rcu of primary.
Let CEX bus remains the same.

First check what is the IP in primary and then reset red. Controller to restore defaults and set back up address to controller . Link both rcu cables for controller.

Power on both controllers one by one.
Redundancy will be issued.
Then you can work on firmware upgradation.

Ip address for primary controller is fine, for backup cpu it's selected obtain an ip address by using default rule

Hai, ip configuration is done and am able to ping the secondary controller when primary controller in off condition,but I can't able to ping primary controller when turning off secondary controller

In a redundant AC 800M pair (having "Dual" lights solid on) there is only one (1) controller running and then its backup waiting to jump in and take over. The primary (having the run light ON) will respond on ping to the controller's IP and the backup will respond on the backup's address (e.g. +0.0.2.0 if using default rule). When failover takes place, the IP-addresses are swapped.

In my case the Dual led in off condition for both the controllers

My scenerio,pm863 with redundant controller.
1) secondary controller turned off downloading program in primary controller everything in normal.
2) when I turned on secondary controller,after five seconds secondary acts as primary and primary goes to fault mode(Led starts to blink)
3) when I turned off and ON primary,the fault goes awày, everything in normal with dual LED in both controllers
4) now am turning off secondary controller without any problem primary controller takes over the control

What am understanding is you are resetting primary controller as it gets fault led.
Try to configure backup address for same controller and once it is done
Power on both the controllers.
Download the program to come Run led in one of the controller.
You can also check the Backup CPU log from remote system for better reference.

Thanks for circling back.

I believe lack of Ethernet connection between primary and secondary should have given echo in the controller logs.

Swapped Ethernet cables should also have been noticed in RNRP status tools when affected controller was acting primary.

Anyway, happy to hear you are past this now.
