Domain controller config.
Is it mandatory to do the NPT on a domain controller used in a 800xA system?
If not, what will be the pros an cons?
- RNRP is installed.
RNRP is a requirement to be able to use redundant network.
- Node is inserted into Node Administration Structure
(thus potentially part of PNSM's Basic Computer Monitoring)
- One more node to care for in System Configuration Console and deploy
(though few actions will likely be required over the lifetime of the DC since RNRP rarely changes)
- NPT will (erroneously!) stop and disable Win32Time causing DCDIAG.EXE to report a number of failures
(this is not a desired configuration so in any case, NPT or not, you need to fix this, start Win32Time and use its NtpClient to read time off, e.g. your connectivity servers or reference clock)
