Dual Safeguard 400 controller FAULT
Hi guys,
On LOCATION-1 SCU-A (Side-A controller od Dual Safeguard 400) is gone to FAULT - the "F" LED is in RED, but there is no HALT CODE (controller state LED-s aren't turned on). The SCU-B is normally in operation.
Plant staff has done the restart in AUTO, and switched off/on controllers fuses, but the SCU-A state is unchanged. SCU-A is isolated and we have 3 days of Degraded mode timer remained, so tomorrow I'm going to LOCATION-1.
As I see it, I can try this actions:
1. Restart the SCU-A in CLEAR (install system SW / delete application), and if the controller goes to P2, return the switch to AUTO; load the DUAP with LOAP;U and resynchronize the controllers.
2. If this doesn't work, I'll have to replace the CPU module. The thing is that I have two spare CPU modules that were decommissioned two years ago from LOCATION-2. Their Base software is the same, but their Selected Options in Application Builder are different:
LOCATION-1 CPU Module:
Node type: Safeguard 400 1.6
Base software: QC01/QC05-BAS11 11.0/5.x
Selected Options: HIDL H2, IESD99X 1.0/0, QC01-LIB11 11.0, QC01-LIB12 11.0, QC05-CES11 5.x
LOCATION-2 CPU Module:
Node type: Safeguard 400 1.6
Base software: QC01/QC05-BAS11 11.0/5.x
Selected Options: HIDL H2, IESD99X 1.0/0, QC01-LIB11 11.0
So due to the fact that the Base Software is the same , can I simply take the spare controller from LOCATION-2, modify NET/NODE strapping jumpers as in SCU-A/LOCATION-1, and replace SCU-A/LOCATION-1 with the spare controller from LOCATION-2, and LOAP the DUAP from LOCATION-1 into the spare controller?
Or should I maybe take the PCMCIA card from SCU-A/LOCATION-1 controller and put it into spare controller from LOCATION-2 and then LOAP the DUAP into spare controller from LOCATION-2?
Is this system software/Selected Options stored in a Hardware chip, or in PCMCIA card or in the DUAP? And how can I find out which CPU type is in LOCATION-1/2 (PM150V04 or PM150V08)? I suppose, I can find out all this information written on the processor module card (System software and the CPU type)?
Thanks in advance,
Hrvoje

Hi
To my knowledge system software are stored on PCMCIA card, so take the card from controller 1 and put in 2 and LOAP.
