PI OPC-scanning tool
Hello.
Can you share this PI OPC-Scanning-tool you mention in this forum?
We are looking into how to filter reads to the surrogate to not read the whole structure.
We want to expose all "tags" of hitorical interest to an 3rd party OPC client, not the whole structure.

To limit such access we have used Matricon Funnel and exposed only matrikon opc server to outside
You mean the tool I mention here ?:

The scanning tool does not filter at all (as it should).
To the filtering PI import tool I have no access, and even if I could have, I should not share this tool.
Seems there is also no clean way to limit the expose of the whole structure. Limiting the access rights to the surrogate user does work, but its far away from an ideal solution.
If you just need a list of tags of historical interest, you maybe can create such list with the 800xA Excel thing.

You are using the wrong PI interface. Use the PI OPC HISTORY Data Access Interface

PI OPC Test tools ( for both OPC DA and HDA ) are included with the PI interface installation software.
Do not use tunnelling software. The PI interface *IS* the tunneller.
