Is it possible to read out aspect GUIDs in BDM? (in order to delete vb-aspects found with vbpg search tool)?
Hello to all,
I´d like to know if it is possible to read out the GUID from aspects with Bulk Data Manager (the old ecxel based, as well as the new one)?
The backround an upcoming upgrade from 800xA 5.1 Rev.D to 6.1.
Instead of upgrading the complete system, we would like to migrate the projects one after another (successfully tested with import/export tool and moving the project specific OPC data).
In order to clean up the system 5.1 before upgrading to 6.1, we would like to delete all the old visual basic aspects before migrate the projects to the new system. Or otherwise delete all vb-aspects after migrating the projects so we do not cause any problems on the existing system.
We have already found all vb-aspects with the VBPG search tool from the libary. As the tool copys the results to excel and shows (besides object path, aspect name, etc) the aspects GUID, it would be awsome if the BDM could also read out and display GUIDs. If so, we could create BDM sheets, import the search tool results and delete them from the system.
Yes there are some differences in the object path syntax between vbpg tool and bdm, but thats a minor problem to solve.
I would be glad, if somebody has done my described case successfully, or if there are other (maybe even simpler?) possibilities to delete the old vb-aspects.
kind regards from Nuremberg,
