AC 800f controller redundancy switch over issue
I am using redundant PM803f controller. While switching from Primary to Secondary I am experiencing a communication lag between Controllers. All my instruments give a zero reading for a millisecond during the switch over and the corresponding actuations are activated. Please guide.

For controller redundancy to take place correctly all variables must be in process image and all the tasks be TASK- RED I.e redundant task

If the power loss affected the primary controller and the PROFIBUS was terminated via a termination switch on the PROFIBUS plug at that controller, then the PROFIBUS is not terminated correctly (PROFIBUS uses an active termination) and the PROFIBUS communication might get disturbed. This could lead to the secondary controller initializing the bus and slaves.
For a redundant pair of controllers always do the PROFIBUS termination externally via a separate terminal.
If the power loss affected the slaves on the PROFIBUS line then the controller has no choice but to initialize all the slaves to bring them back into data exchange.
Which devices/controllers were actually affected by the power loss?
How long was the power out?
