Question on AF100 configuration
Hello my account manager Carl Larsson mention that you are a expert at AF100 communication to S800. I am having a issues on several nodes that are dropping modules. This is most noticeable on AI810 modules as they will go to ???? for about 2 seconds and stop our process. These AI modules are on a pressure unit. I have replaced the CI810 several time the problem will come and go sometimes it will run fine for months. We are using some cable that is not completely support by ABB now the Belden 1634A. We also do something that is not in the manual but is everywhere in the plant. There is a jumper from the incoming leg of the Bus1 that Jumps to the outgoing leg of the trunk. Then there is the drop cable to the CI810 also that does not return back to the TC505. The AF100 manual has the connector for the CI810 as the point the cables are put together. I just do not know if the jumper is the issue.

This problems sounds familiar to me, having dealt with mystery drop-outs of an AF100. The cabling tested correctly for continuity and resistance over the twisted pairs, or so it seemed. The wire pairs on that cable are red/green and orange/black, but the installers had wired them as red/black and orange/green. The AF100 worked fine for long periods, then dropped out for just a moment. It's worth checking that your twisted pairs are correct.
