ABB Generic OPC 800 xA 5.1
Guys can you plz help me out with possible resolution to this issue. I have 800xA 5.1 rev B system installed in Domain configuration. In same network I have Schneider Scada & we need to achieve OPC communication with Schneider system.
Required D-Com settings are already done using local user with same user name & password on both ends.
Matrikon Explorer installed in ABB connectivity server is able to connect to Remote schneider OPC & read values successfully.
When trying to create the OPC DA Service in ABB CS with details of Remote Server IP & Schneider OPC prog ID, service remains in initialize state & never turns to Service.
PLC uploader is running successfully in Control Structure & entire structure from Schneider Scada is replicated in ABB Generic PLC network. However when checking live values in Control connection all values are showing as BAD quality.

The OPC DA Connector runs as a service in the background which should not be straight forward compared with a client running as a desktop application.
Asynchronous DCOM is required, i.e. OPC DA Connector expects "Advise" to work and the 3rd party server need to be able to perform callbacks to the DA Connexctor (which a simple OPC DA test client might not test/prove for you, only providing synchronous one-shot reads)
The advdsopcclient.exe (part of 800xA) has support for asyncronous mode (use the Advise button to test it). Still, that client is also a desktop app.
For asynchronous DCOM, up to four (4) user accounts might become required unless the server and client share the same workgroup or domain. See attached file covering the opposite scenario, still it should explain the "four accounts" for you and the need for permitting the server (Schneider) to perform callbacks to the client (OPC DA Connector).
