Freelance 2019 Emulator Incompatible DMS Version
Hello,
I am using Freelance Engineering 2019 and tried to simulate the program without physical hardware.
For this, i followed the given steps of the tutorial, initializing a controller via localhost:8888 and the ip adress 127.0.0.1
When i try to load the software the error 'incompatible DMS version' pops up.
The Help file for this error reads 'The firmware or operating system version of the controller does not correspond the Freelance software'.
Since I am using the Emulator, how can I choose/update its firmware version compatible with Freelance 2019?
Is there a different solution?
Thanks in advance,
Ks

Hello,
the only explanation is an inconsistent installation.
Please check the file/product version of the emulator executable: Right click the msrntvc.exe in the Freelance\exe directory.
Chose Properties from the menu, switch to the Details tab.
The file version must match the information from the Freelance Engineering About box.
Best regards
Jürgen

I tried reinstalling several times w/ different adjustments with the same error. Even after recovery of the whole system the same error showed up.
The solution was:
In Network Connections/Adapter options deactivating all ethernet adapters except one. Adjust the IP-Adress of the remaining adapter to 169.254.1.1 and the installation completes without errors.

What IP address and Resource ID did you have configured in the Network Configuration of your Freelance project for the Controller Emulator? Usually the controller Emulator is running on the engineering PC and one would use 127.0.0.1 (local host) as IP. The resource ID in the network config should match the Station ID you provided when creating the controller via localhost:8888. My guess is, IP or Station ID did not match the data given for the controller emulator in the Network Configuration inside the project, so the engineering was looking somewhere else for the Controller Emulator
