AC800/AC400 connectivity
Hi guys,
I'm working on a plant with 800xA v5.1 system that consists of: ASCS1/ASCS2 (Aspect+AC400 connectivity), 3x multisystem integration RAC, 3x OWS and 2x AC410 controllers. We're planning to replace one AC410 controller with AC800M, so we'll have to install AC800 connectivity on system.
What do you propose how to do it? Would it be better to add new CS3/CS4 AC800M servers, or can I install the AC800M connectivity to the existing ASCS1/ASCS2 with AC400 connectivity?
I prefer the second method (to combine AC400/AC800 connectivity on the same server).
Thanks in advance,
Hrvoje

In our support lab, we've combined AC400 and AC800 Connect since the very early days of 800xA with no issues*. Both connects are lightweight in terms of memory and CPU requirements.
*) The 400/800 time adaptors don't mix well. It is either 400 or 800, never have both active in the same box. Not an issue in 6.1 and onwards due to redesign of how to select adaptor. See user's guide how to uninstall or inactivate. CI855 MB300 connectivity is heartily recommended to keep MB300 clock synchronized. If you can, let the AC 800M be the master time keeper and govern MB300 time via CI855.
The only bottleneck I can think of is Basic History and the log retention (number of logs, frequency of data saved, etc.).

Since its 800xA 5.1 need to look at the system guideline on compatibility or merging the nodes.
If AC800M Connect server can be mixed with Aspect server .
Are you going to decommission the advant connect and networks ?
How many tags you have ?
