ABB Workplace Login
I have performed the attached steps as directed by a 7 year old case, but no files are there to delete. Our system has Windows 10 with 800xA Version 6.1. Please advise as to how to remove the Autostart.
To remove auto start, launch the Windows Task Scheduler and remove the workplace job.
For the technically interested;
- Q: why this change of MO?
- A: Because since Windows 8, the workplace must be elevated to be able to perform logover. Actually, the Impersonate a client after authentication security privilege is only accessible to elevated tasks. The privilege still need to be handed out to the user(s) in Local Security Policy or thru a GPO. The easiest way of becoming elevated is thru a scheduled task set with the Run with highest privileges option. The alternative would have been to accept a UAC prompt... If you don't need LogOver, you can launch workplaces "the old way" if you know how. To add a schedules task, elevation is also required.
Enabling LogOver w/o elevation will display a UAC prompt at start of workplace for all users. Non-admin users also need to sign in with their credentials to accept the UAC prompt while admins can just accept it.
