IMS MSGLOG recording failure
I have a system (800xA ver 5.1 FP4) with n.4 (two redundant couples)
of 800xA for MOD300 connectivity servers.
The IMMSlog on the IM node records alarm/events from all the connectivity servers.
Recently we discovered that from one couple of server all the alarm and events
are recorded perfectly, whilst from the other servers the alarms are not recorded
but they record "only" events, even though all the connectivity servers
have the same configuration.
I remember that I rebooted these "faulty" server 4 weeks ago and after that
I was able to see alarm/events recorded perfectly,
I wonder why alarms are lost in the IMS history log when they come
from a particular connectivity server? what could be the reason..
Any suggestion will be really appreciated.
Going large (tens of millions of messages) may need several tens of GB of Oracle storage.
Check the %HS_LOG% folder's message log logfile and the Oracle instance's alert file.
Check for storage issues, eg a changed event attribute will "park" the logging.
