The BRC can be used as a direct replacement for the MFP. If your MFPs are redundant, you would need a redundant pair of BRC with a redundancy cable that's specific to the BRC. You would have to take the MFPs offline when replacing with BRC; it cannot be done one module at a time in a redundant pair.

There are no manual describing how to perform an upgrade, it is pretty straight forward if you are experienced with the Harmony system.
For hardware follow the BRC410 user manual and the suggestions posted by other users earlier in this question.
For configuration there are some some aspects that need to be considered, like if you are using c-program or UDF in the MFP controller. Some minor logic corrections will also probably be needed, like block addresses correction of FC63/FC64 or status output from I/O FC 83/132/149.
All these points are described in the following article: "ABB20121217KB0001-01- Upgrading to BRC300/400/410 Controllers from older controllers"
Reach out to your local ABB department and ask them if they can provide you with the document if you don't have access to it on myportal.abb.com.
