Why IEC61850 OPC Integration to 800xA Alarm get discarded?
We are Reading information from Ref670 IEDs through vertical (MMS) communication via CET TOOL to the 800xA. We are having a problem with some alarm being discarded in 800xA but they show in the 3rd party OPC AE Client.
Why is this happening and how can I fix this problem?
Note: Some resources mention GUID mismatch might be the problem, if that's the case how do I find the correct GUID and where do i place it for proper objects alarm mapping?
Some OPC AE servers supplies SourceGUID as vendor attribute, when doing so, the GUID must be a valid object in the system. If not, the alarm/event is discarded.
When alarm or events arrive without SourceGUID, the Event Collector will perform a name search based on the SourceName set on the alarm/event. With no match, the alarm/event is discarded.
Finally, there is a feature called Lost & Found (only possible in the absense of SourceGUID) that will create temporary placeholder objects for misplaced (=non-existent) objects.
Discarded alarms and events can be dumped with afwapplogviewer. The total number of discarded alarms and events is exposed as an OPC property on each Event Collector service provider in the Service Structure.
If your solution is based on SourceGUID, you must solve the problem upstream (=closer to the emitter of the alarm) rather than downstream (=in the HMI).
