MMS variable access panel builder 6.0 PC mode
I have a failed HMI panel is build by Stahl panel to commuication to AC800M using MMS communications , I am going to replace the Stahl HMI panel to ABB panel 800 series , I have the variable list for the MMS , but I don't have the souce code for the PLC, right now I try to use panel builder 6.0 configure a PC HMI try to connect the AC800m to see if the MMS variables are updating , but all variables seems only displays 0 , not sure what is wrong , is the MMS vesion should be same on panel builder and PLC side ? Right now it is MMS 4.1 on AC800M side I believe . Do I need a panel builder 4.0 ? Or anything else need to check ? There is no communication alarm , but variables not updating it's value .
Thanks

Hi,
It will be difficult if you can't look in AC800M's access variable list. I'm not sure if Stahl's panel have implemented MMS driver, it usually belongs to ABB panels? Are you sure they used that protocol/driver?
In case you have the access variable list from AC800M, you should use exactly the same names in your tags for Panel Builder, but also you have to know the variables type - bool, int, real... That is usually not visible from access variables list.
You also have to define the controller settings in your driver in Panel Builder - IP address, Control Network driver etc.
Post a pictures of these settings to see. My advise is first to start with only one or two variables until you get the real values.
About using of Panel 800 with panel builder 6 I'm not quite sure. In old Panel Builder 800under the driver settings you have a choice for the version of MMS protocol depending on that, used in controller - see the picture below. I don't know how that is implemented in ver. 6 but that could create additional dificulties.
