Help in verifying new redundant Profibus configuration
my project in installing a new measurement system is ongoing and I have made a schematic over the architecture which I need to verify by you experts before I go any further. I´ve seen different ways to connect the Profibus in similar redundant systems (with also redundant AC800) and now I´m uncertain my idea is ideal or if I should change it.
The main difference to other exampels I´ve seen in ABB documentations is that the Profibus channels interconnect between the CPU:s also; i.e. Profi A on CPU1 is in series with Profi A on CPU2. I´ve made these different....
Are both ways good either way or what would you recommend? Will my schematic even work? Are the buses correctly connected? Please see attached picture.

The right Profibus configuration for full redundancy (master, line and slave) is given on page 88, figure 35 of 3BDS009029-600.
Right, you need a connection between lines A and lines B of both redundant CI854 units. I can confirm it is working well.
That connection is missing on your picture. Also you used a strange crossing of lines to the slaves. I can't confirm if your configuration will work or not.
Please note that the CEX-bus Interconnection Unit BC810 (BC820) should be placed between CI-units and the PM-module.
For obtaining better redundancy don't forget to use multiple 24VDC power units and a Voting unit (SS8xx).
And why not use redundant ControlNet? (Make use of PM-s CN2)
