motor & VFD service factor
I need a references to find actual concept of service factor and it's effect on motor and vfd dimensioning.
1- if we need a 1000 kW electro-motor with S.F. of 1.15 for a torque-constant load, do we consider a 1150 kW electromotor or 1000 kW is enough?
2- is S.F. meaningful for VFD? if yes, does this factor affect the size if the drive?
many thanks for your help.

This is my personal opinion, if the required power is 1000 kW but a s.f. is also required 1.15, then the motor must be 1150 kW.
For the same reason, the drive must be suitable for the motor, and therefore the drive must also be 1150 kW.
