netwrork Loop 800xA
- Spanning Tree?
A network loop is exactly what it says; the most simple loop is a single switch with a link/cable connecting/bonding two of the own ports.
When a network contains a loop, a multicast/broadcast storm will follow since such telegrams shall be sent to all ports; a loop will make the switches send multicasted and broadcasted again and again. This can lead to a total blockage of the network when all resources are spent on amplifying an echo that never fades out.
Network drivers having Receive Side Scaling enabled may stir up false positives (loop is reported but there is no loop). It was a long while ago I since witnessed a false loop detection, but in any case, your situation calls for checking this advanced setting on the network adapters running RNRP in nodes displaying these error messages.
