Is the faceplate on an object instance that inherits the faceplate from some object type?
Inherited aspects cannot be edited.
You can create an override on instance level, but this becomes impractical when the number of faceplates / objects grow.
Better change on the object type.
If type is locked (contained within a Released Library) your options diminishes.
You can always create a copy of the graphic and faceplate and make your customization there.
To default call this new faceplate (with left click) you should create a new Aspect Category of faceplate and use Aspect Precedence List (the successor or the legacy Default Aspect Key) to prefer your custom faceplate instead of the default.
