License error on 800xa 6.1 w Sentinel expired
Hello ... I have a problem entering a newly acquired license for an upgrade from a system 800x to 6.0.3 to 6.1. Despite the product being properly licensed, every so often the license error message appears. In the previous system the license included Sentinel but in the update the client decided not to update Sentinel. This error is indicated in the License Status View, however ABB Vendor indicated that the fact that Sentinel is expired should not generate the license error message, and that was all the help I received from the vendor. Is this a known issue with the 800x to 6.1 license and is there a solution? Thank you

The "System Release Date" (a date code embedded into all 800xA software) must not be more recent than the expiry date of the Sentinel license. The current date is exposed in the System Release Info aspect (Admin System Structure > Central Licensing).
For example, if the Sentinel agreement expired 2020.01, you must not install any System 800xA software, revision or rollup released after that date or else License Annoyance will start.
IIRC, there has been a flaw in the update of the System Release Date aspect causing it to be updated to "time of software installation" rather than "time of software release". I believe you can find the later in the "RUT" log (search disk).
If the date is OK (time of release), you must purchase an updated licence. Speak with your regional ABB sales representative about updating Sentinel.
If the date is not OK (time of installation), please file a support case with your regional ABB support center.
