AC450 alarm problem
after adding a new AI module on a running AC450 controller (there has been a problem with implementing the module - https://forum-controlsystems.abb.com/...), we added a new AIC signal. We configured it according to the other existing AIC signals and when the new AIC alarm had to be generated we saw that the alarm was generated in database and on the graphic element, but it wasn't generated in the alarm/event list. That is strange because the alarm settings of the new AIC signal is the same as the alarm settings on the existing AIC signals (existing signals generated the alarm in the alarm list).
We made a reset of the controller and servers but nothing helps. Anybody knows the solution?
I recommend having an a) alarm list and b) event list put there filtered for "Objects and Descendants" to be able to track present & past misplaced alarms.
If the "missing" alarm is found there as an object, delete it. This should cause next alarm to fire at the correct object.
Next thing is to check that the Event Collector service group for 800xA for Advant Master is set for Tracking Source Object Interceptor (which is factory default since many years).
This interceptor will try to reinsert any new alarm where it belongs (Note: this remapping relies on that you have purged the object of concern from Lost & Found).
In early versions interception (mapping of where an alarm should go) was not that very intelligent - before version 5 (I believe) you sometimes had to restart the Event Collectors after purging Lost and Found. Today, when using the new Tracking Source Object Interceptor it is enough to prune L&F and wait for the next occurrence of the alarm in question.
If you don't care and just want quickly to wipe all objects in Lost & Found, use this command at the Command Prompt:
C:\> afwsct -lf -q
Removing L&F objects:
