CB difference report says new hardware signature even though no change in configuration done
When trying to go online in the CB the system says that there is hardware changes done and I have to download.
I know there isn't any changes done.
I read the difference report and there is a different signature in one of my I/O nodes.
How is this possible? Could the signature change in the hardware by itself?
The I/O is Siemens ET200SP Profinet.
It has happened several times.

Perhaps this is the problem, had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.

AC 800M Control Builder, Version 6.1.0-x,
Go Online from Control Builder not Possible after Download of Hardware Changes in Previous Download
Products Concerned 800xA -
Control1 AC 800M Control Builder, version 6.1.0-x
Control Builder Safe version 3.0 containing AC 800M Control Builder, version 6.1.0-x
Product Issue Number 800xACON-AD-6100-003
Description A problem has been found that prevent Control Builder entering online mode after download of hardware changes.
When a hardware unit with connection to an application is moved (copy/paste or drag-drop) in the hardware tree, the source code is not correctly updated, and it may not be possible to go online to the Controller again from another Control Builder or the same Control Builder if the project is closed after download.
Workaround There are two workarounds for the problem:
1. Perform a project upgrade in Control Builder (Tools>Maintenance>Upgrade Project). Change of hardware libraries are not required for this workaround (question may occur during the upgrade project process).
2. Perform a dummy change (open the editor and perform a change of a variable, revert the change and save the editor) on every unit(s) and its subunits that is moved and have variables/signals connected to channels.
When the project is upgraded, or the changes are done in the editor of the hardware units the channel connections will be recreated, and the Controller will be changed marked.
Perform a download and the project is no longer exposed for this problem. Correction1 This problem will be corrected in Control Software for AC 800M version 6.1.1-0. For Control Builder Safe this will be corrected in version after 3.0.

Are you downloading from the SAME engineering station. The checksum changes when you compile on a different station.

I don't want to download. Only go online and that's not possible because of the problem I describes.

It could happen also from any changes in the project in offline.
I don't know solution to skip that and go online without download

But there are no changes made in the project regarding these I/O:s?

It happens over night when no one has touched the CB.

Hi,
Do you have a battery and/or CF in the CPU? Power supply breakage?
As I explained, I have no exact explanation. Sometimes it happen with me too in some particular cases. In other projects I can go in online after 1-2 years without any problem.

Have no experience with Profinet as well?

Hi again!
My eyes aren't that good anymore ;-)
I today realized that it's the other way around. I've mixed up the two windows in the difference report.
It's the Control Builder signature that changes by itself. Is it even possible?

Hi,
I don't understand exactly, but like described in the first comment, if you are using the different engineering stations, it could happen. I don't believe the CB will change anything by itself.
