Modbus TCP IP Communicaiton in CHMI
Dear sir,
CHMI 6.0.3.2
PLC: PM554 ETH
We were trying to make communication using Modbus TCP IP with CHMI
Modbus TCP/IP Server protocol is given in PLC
PLC IP: 192.168.0.10
I have given Modbus protocol in Control structure as site ID1 and IP: 192.168.0.10
I have added a Dword signal which is configured as %MD0.0 in PLC and while checking the data it shows communication failed.
I have searched for documents while using Modbus TCP/IP with CHMI but I was unable to find one
Pls advise

Hi,
Why you don't use AC500 OPC server (I think it is Codesys OPC server or similar, depends on your version)
CHMI generally is designed to use OPC connection, particularly AC800M.
I know it is described that CHMI supports Modbus TCP, and should do that, but personally I have never tried that.
Hi. CHMI has never support Modbus directly. You would need a controller (eg AC800 or AC500 with Modbus) or an OPC server like Kepware or Matrikon to allow access for Modbus. We have used Kepware successfully with 800xA (CHMI is a 'lite' version of 800xA anyway) as a suggestion.

Are you using 800xA PLC connect (Master) to communicate over Modbus TCP with the PLC PM554 (Slave)?

CHMI Modbus TCP/IP Driver acts as a Server or Client?
PLs confirm
