SM811 doesn't start to synchronize after exchange
Hello Everyone,
I'm having an Issue with a redundant SM811 card.
We are on site performin Online Updates of the Controllers from 800xA 5.1 Rev B to 800xA 5.1 Rev B CC1, so mainly an update of the Hi Extension and an FW Update of the controller and the SM811.
During Step 7 of the online Update (process is running of Controller & SM811 with the new firmware) the FW Update of the SM811 was aborted, according to the Firmware information of the control builder it went through.
After that, only the Access Enable LED on the SM811 was lit, all others not.
We tried the following steps:
- removing and inserting again the same card
- replacing the SM811 by a spair part with a correct installed FW
- replacing the Sync Link Cable of the pair
But the issue remains. The Access Enable LED is the only activ LED.
The Status of the SM811 in the Online Modus of Contol Builder says "Error on Backup Unit"
Hay anyone an idea how to deal with this issue?
A case is opened, but the customer is not realy a fan of not having full reundancy during the weekend...
Thanks to all in advance
Sabine

What level of SIL do You have? In case of SIL3, You have to perform Hot Insert procedure - basically, remove SM811, make sure if access enable is on, insert SM811, press button for hot insert of SM module - check if You have connected signal from one push button to both SM modules.
