CI867 card going unresponsive with all LED indication off and communication failure
Hello experts,
We have lately faced with an issue at a site location, where we have a CI867 card for reading data from data concentrators over modbus TCP/IP. We have nearly 20 numbers of such data concentrators is connected to roughly 15-25 numbers modbus serial multifunction meters.
Every now and then we see that the CI867 card goes unresponsive and undetected with all LED indications on it off there is total communication failure. However, the PM866 controller remain healthy and in run mode. Issues resolves after power recycle of the unit.
Fearing overload of CI867 card, we added an extra CI867 card and divided the load equally between the two CI867 card.
After 2 days, we found that CI867 card at position-1 is running fine with communication healthy but CI867 card at position-2 failed with no communication and no LED indications. After power recycle communication established. The event occurred thrice in 5 days.
We are not able to analyse what exactly is going wrong here. The customer is running 800xA 5.1 RevC.
Kindly suggest which side we should be looking to resolve this issue.
Regards,
Saurish

Hi,
Is this same site where you have posted a below other thread in this forum?
https://forum-controlsystems.abb.com/...
1. Do you have dedicated network for modbus here?
2. Is your modbus network stable? Connection ups and downs are there.
3. What is your modbus network load? How many packets per sec approximately?
4. Are you receiving other than modbus packets in the same modbus network?
CModbus::ReadNewData()- Error,Modbus PDU Length Error E 2020-08-25 14:01:50.487 (tMbmTcpRcv)[SYS] CModbus::ReadNewData()- Error,Invalid Protocol ID in Modbus Message
If you don't have any network issue, you can register a supportline case.
