ABB 800xA 5.1 32 bit System CPU Configuration
I have System version 5.1. We are upgrading system with version 6.1. but now our primary server hdd was currupt and we have now only one Server in line. We have one spare Computer with Core to Duo process. So can this Computer we use as Server ? Or what will be minimum requirements for server Computer system. We are using window 7 32 bit OS for all servers and all Clients.

If you can load what you need (ie Win7) then it can run as need it to. If your system is small and you have everything on Win7 then it is the function (eg AS, CS) that determine whether a machine is a Server or not. For larger systems the AS/CS and other nodes will need Windows Server versions (eg Harmony Connect, Historians etc). Check system guides for accurate OS needs for certain 800xA functions.
I would say anything at or above the surviving 5.1 server's hardware spec.
VMware ESXi can easily emulate a server for you.
You could also as an emergency short term solution add the lost Aspect Server role to any of the other remaining computers. Contact me off forum and I'll tell you how: first.last@se.abb.com
For a new install you need a hardware running Windows Server 2008 (actually, you can have Aspect Server running on Windows 7 as contingency solution until upgrade is completed). If you are at 5.1 RevB or FP2 or later, you can also use Server 2008 R2 (i.e. the 64-bit version) as mixing 32 and 64 bit OS became a possibility once 800xA started shipping on one single 32/64 bit media.
