ACS880 can´t run on low Profibus speed
I´m having severe problem "speaking" to a new VSD ACS880.
It´s an old plant and the VSD is changed from an old one.
The Profibus Master is running on 93.75 kBaud, probably because there are
som Profibus PA transmitters on the some line.
Those days there was some problems with the GSD files before we learned how
to manilpulate them.
My question is if ACS880 really can run on this low speed. I have something in
the back of my head that the low speed can be the reason to my problem.
probably the problem is not the transmission speed, because the ProfiBus on ACS880 also supports lower speeds.
It could be incompatibility of the GSD files present in your controller. It happened in fact on replacement of an old ACS800 that I had to change parameter 51.07 on the new ACS880, because the PLC had a GSD file inside created for the RPBA series of ACS800 which is not compatible with the GSD file of the FPBA series, which that's what works on ACS880.
Fortunately ACS880 parameter 51.07 allows you to emulate old GSD file types, so you don't have to change anything on the PLC side.
Try checking and then let us know if you've solved it. For the table of speeds supported by FPBA on the ACS880, see the extract from the manual FPBA-01 below
