Does Panel 800 version 5.0/1 support PC runtime?
Currently we have PP 865 with Panel 800 version 5.0/1. I want to replace PP 865 with PC based HMI. Is it possible?
If I buy Version 6 and import my project from version 5 to version 6, will this work? How much engineering work is required for this work? After converting the project in version 6, how to proceed to get PC based HMI?
Hi,
There is a conversion tool in PB ver. 6 to upgrade from Ver. 5. But to be honest, you will have a manual engineering work to fully convert of the project. How much - it will depend on the complexity of the existing project and objects used. It is not direct automatic conversion, may be half of the work is automatic.
You have to buy PB ver. 6 or upgrade to ver. 6 if you have valid Sentinel for ver. 5 AND USB dongle for Runtime (250, 2000 or 4000 tags).
Panel 800 Runtime Version 6 to be installed on the PC, The USB dongle enables the runtime and the amount of signals
To test how the conversion tool is working, you can download a demo version of PB ver. 6 - it is working 30 days for free without license.
So could you please suggest any other solution? We need to replace PP865 since these HMIs are no more available in the market?
I can advise you to contact your ABB sales and consult with them.
From my experience, PP865 is a very reliable product, also PB 5.0/1 is a very good tool. We have installed more than 10 pcs from 2014, and no any no problems until now.
If you need to replace the panel, I suppose you will have engineering efforts to do that.
For the new project, we just started with ver. 6, developed the panels from the scratch. We used PP877 a few months ago, but seems it is already removed from the active sales and have to look for a newer model for the next project :-)
So consult with ABB and decide by yourself
from where did you buy these HMIs and for how much?
I'm sorry, here is the technical open forum.
As I advised you, call your ABB contact and consult with them
OK thank you very much for your response.
