Restore 800xA on virtual player
Hello
I am trying to recover multiple backups on multiple systems, 800xA 5.1,
6.0.
The real systems consist of virtual servers, then we have a single node
for each system that contains the same version as the real system.
The systems take backup and copies this to a fileserver.
This single node I have made a virtual copy of so I can run it in VMWare
player to try to read back a backup on.
I take the backup from the fileserver and copies the backup to my virtual singel node.
I have tried several ways, deleting systems before restore, rename node
etc, but when restore starts it always gets stuck on missing some files eg
"C:\R3\BR3ITDV01_20200530\backup \ 0_Objects_Admin_Structure" and so on.
These files exist on " C:\R3\BR3ITDV01_20200530\backup\" and are the files from the fileserver.
If a make a backup on the virtual single node then it is no problem to restore that.
Anyone?

Is there some bit in the file permission/settings disturbing the restore?
Compare with a locally taken backup.
Can you try "Take ownership" on the backup top folder and all below files and give read permission to eg Domain Users of Everyone and see if it makes a difference?
Also if you are coming from a virtual environment and moving to another virtual environment (albeit VM Player) why not just directly extract the VM from the ESXi to VM player? I know this requires a shutdown (per node), but is possible.
