How to Select different Aspect Reference for Configured Object/Tag in the Group Display
Hi Stefan,
As we are upgrading 800xA system to 800xA Ver 6.0.3 at one of the site where Visual Basic aspects are no longer supported , I have a scenario where we have group displays at site, which are configured with Faceplate's(Visual Basic Aspect). I would like to know if there is any work around to to only change the Faceplate (Visual Basic Aspect) to Faceplate PG2 with out removing and adding the object/Tag again.
Also Is it possible to load the Group Displays using Import export tool without broken references,in case the destination system already consists of the dependent Objects/Tags configured with in the group display.
Thanks,
Sandeep M

Without knowing the internal details for sure, I believe the Group Display aspect stores and uses something like ObjectID:AspectID:ViewClassID.
This theory is supported by clicking on the HTML button available in the Group Display's Config View. The HTML code exposes these GUIDs (read only).
If the GUIDs change part of the upgrade, e.g. to the new PG2 Faceplate, old Group Displays will stop working until you have reconfigured them.
I am not aware of any bulk editing tool for Group Displays. Sorry.
As usual when you lack a function in System 800xA, please speak with your regional ABB sales representative.
