If the HMI / engineering station is failing, you should consider using a different name for your topic.
Since System 800xA does not come with any kernel mode drivers, "total hangups" can often be attributed to something else but System 800xA (defective harddisk, crippled installation, bad memory, drivers, etc.).
A little bit more detailed information is welcome. What more can you tell about the hangs?
- Does computer memory run low? What process occupies memory?
- Does computer CPU run high? What process hogs the CPU?
- What errors and warnings are found in the Windows Event Log?
For professional support, please always file a support case with your regional ABB support center. This is ABB AKS, a lightly moderated and public Internet form with no formal obligation to serve your problem. We try our best, but it is not a formal support channel.
System 800xA v6.0 was released in 2016. Since then we have had a number of rollups released on a number of products part of System 800xA. Be specific when reporting versions (saying "Windows 10" is not very conclusive as it has come in many builds and patches)
If the problem is concentrated to the Plant Explorer and Operator Workplace apps, there exists a known crash/hang related problem 800xASYS-OL-6030-10042 which is solved in ABB 800xA Base 6.0.3-0 RU5.
