wiring the analog inputs and analog outputs of ABB DA501 expansion module
Hello i have a DA501 module and i want to wire the analog inputs and analog outputs (both inputs and outputs as Current type). In the wiring diagram why does it say to connect to ZP and not to AI- for analog inputs and connect to ZP and not to AO- for analog outputs?
Is the AI- , the AO- and the ZP internally connected so its the same no matter where i put the wires?
Thank you in advance

Hi,
The manual 3ADR010121 clearly describes how to use analogue channels of DA501.
The right connection when these channels are used for current signals:
- AI current: AIx+ (+) and ZP (-)
- AO current AOx+ (+) and ZP (-)
The terminals AI- and AO- should be used as (-) for voltage signals. AI/O- and ZP are not connected internally.
ZP is process 0V (-24VDC):
