Hello,
if you are planning to upgrade the system from xP/windows 7 (32bit ) to 64 bit OS then off course its possible, based on my previous project experience we followed below method to integrate plant guard controllers into system 800xA6.0/6.1
OPC Connectivity: Use PlC Connect as client to integrate with Plant guard controllers via OPC server gets installed in same AC800M Connectivity server OR use different set of CS depending on the number of signals.
Engineering tool: Toolset can be installed only on 32bit OS as this limitation, due to this limitation either you can go for vmware workstation on the same AC800M Engineering station or you use separate workstations.
we followed the below procedure in one of our upgrade project from xA5.0 to xA6.0.3.2 by considering cyber security measures.

- OPC server software: Order new OPC software depending the type you are using we went with P8032S which is enhanced version to match with with our exiting software.
- Engineering function: ordered vmware workstation pro 12.5 version and get installed on the 64 bit-AC800M EWS with windows 10 (32bit) downgraded.
Hi;
There was a Plantguard Connect to be used with System 800xA Version 3.x and 4.x, it was a certificate software. I don't know if it could be used for your version (Tollser version 3.46.9)
Plantguard Connect enables the integration of the Plantguard TMR safety system with System 800xA Extended Automation System. This connect package:
Installs Plantguard object types and aspects for all Plantguard hardware and I/O
Uploads Plantguard applications into the 800xA control structure with tags and descriptions
Provides object displays for all I/O
Enables 800xA graphics to be applied to Plantguard variables
Provides Plantguard events into the 800xA Events list
But, I think that the "Plantguard Connect" it is not available any more as ABB product. The good thing is, based in this, you can configure the different objects that are needed, the manuals are a good reference. The 800xA PLC Connect can be used with the Plantguard OPC Server to do the integration, but it won't be a Certificated Product for Safety System.
You can sent a email directly to se.automation.supportline@se.abb.com; and they would be able give you a best support.
Regards
