Advant Fieldbus 100 extension via WLAN
Hi,
has anybody tried to extend an AdvantFieldbus 100 connected between an AC450 controller and several CI810 interfaces with help of WLAN ?
We need to connect S800 I/O's mounted at a shovel to the AC450.
If the answer is yes, what type of devices di you use and was it working reliable?
Thanks for your help.
Klaus

Don't think about running WLAN or WIFI I call this in *any* controller network.
And this advice applies to any process hardware from any vendor.
Please search for WIFI DEAUTH.
You can buy these devices for ~$15 and you can defunct your WIFI.
... and is/maybe possible to use your $cellphone for this.
The problem :
People will buy this and play around.
And they are more problems with WIFI.
Also with any other $hardware, which uses radio.
e.g.
wireless hart

Hello Klaus.
This is not possible. The electrical modulation on AF 100 is similar to Profibus.
You need dedicated optical modems to extend AF 100 via optical fiber.
TC514V2 is the Optical/Twister pair modems to use.
Fiber cable used is multimode 62,5 /125 w. ST contacts
Best Regards Jan-Erik
