AC450 Halt Code 05
Hi I have a PM511V16 PR:E and when I try to insert it in the Controller rack as a backup processor it gave a halt code 05 so I restarted the Processor several times and it gave the same halt code.
I know that the halt code means bus fault in system mode and the reason may be impermissible board extracted or memory error.
So can I try to replace the RAM or to replace the whole processor module?

Hello Amr.
Correct, you may try these two measures.
If you have access to an in-house controller for test purpose ?
It is also interesting to know if you get the same fault if you use the CPU as a single CPU?
There has been a few cases over the years where the Active CPU have has HW fault on the part of the board that is handling CPU redundancy
In such case the 05 halt code CPU may work as a single CPU, )worth a test)
If working as single but not as redundant you may suspect any of the two CPU units HW components handling redundancy,
and in extremely rarely the back plane.
I have once seen a CPU working as single but not accepting a redundant partner CPU.
There is also a known software bug that the redundant CPU may stall after weeks or months of operation with halt code 05 or 42.
But then an auto init will restore the backup operation.
The below versions are affected, see also ABB Status Report 9092
