FIM UMC100 Communication - USB - 800xA
Hello, all.
In a greenfield project using 800xA 6.1 we plan to use UMC100 devices. We have installed all the needed software i.e. ‘3BSE059267D1810_D_en_ABB_Ability_Field_Information_Manager_2.0’ and the UMC100 package ‘ABB_Stotz-Kontakt_GmbH.UMC100.4.0.29.PROFIBUS.fdix’. I have also installed a temporary license for ‘FIM 2.0’ (see the screenshots).
At first, I’ve faced a problem trying to connect using USB. Finally, I’ve found that the FDTI Windows USB driver was missing. To solve the problem I’ve installed the driver I’ve found inside the installation package of Asset Vision ‘PBDTM 1SAJ924012R0006.zip’. But even I’ve followed all the installation instructions for 800xA Connectivity (https://new.abb.com/control-systems/fieldbus-solutions/fim/connectivities/syste
m800xa) I cannot ‘see’ my UMC100 devices (see the following screenshots).
Best Regards

I assume you would like to connect to an 800xA system. For this you use the wrong communication server! Try to add via
The endpoint address is the address of your 800xA node where the FIM 800xA Communication server is running. It seems that it is your local host. Then you can use the entry "localhost:32794" as endpoint address. Name the communication server, e.g. "800xA @ localhost".
If communication server is running and was configured correctly, the device tile will appear in the topology. If not, FIM will generate messages like "server not reachable" or "server / client not trustable". In these cases please follow instructions of the link you already mentioned in your question.
Independent of the UMC devices, if 800xA Communication server is reachable and configured correctly, a "hardware scan" on the 800xA communication server device tile has to show the AC800M controllers and the CI854. FIM will scan the profibus and search for profibus slaves.
